EA
Ea is a small coastal fishing village located on the coast, 50 km northeast from Bilbao, at the foot of a small estuary that winds its way through the cliffs to meet the sea. In town, the small river winds its way through the streets.
Ea possesses sleepy fishing village charm and history for a day away from the crowds. Part of the towns charm includes historical landmarks that date back hundreds of years. Three main bridges are found in Ea, the oldest one is called the “Roman Bridge” and boasts a coat of arms from the medieval era. Also worth visiting are the old mill and Iron factory from the 15th and 16th century. Today the 900 inhabitants main source of economy continues to be the small fishing port, local agriculture and farms. For visitors there are a couple of restaurants, bars, playgrounds for the kids and a small beach with showers. On June 26 they celebrate an annual festival where locals dance in the river.
